Day 7 has a tremendous amount of climbing, but it is a day that is full of history and thus perhaps walking the hills will give us an opportunity to take it all in. Pretty early in the day we will reach Avontuur, the start of the Prince Alfred’s Pass. This is the longest publicly accessible mountain pass in South Africa and the second oldest unaltered pass still in use. Will certainly provide many photo opportunities. Being deep in the pass might make the social media updates a bit difficult – don’t worry though, as soon as we have signal you will get all the news.
