Day 6

Thursday 15th August 2024
62 KAYS
861m Vert

Day 6 is one that we have long marked as one that we are afraid of.  It is long – the second longest of the whole journey.  It has quite a bit of climbing, matched with equal descent.  The thing that stresses us out though is the road we run on.  Potentially in a good condition but it is the N9 and thus for the first time in our journey we have to deal with traffic.  On this day hi-viz clothing is mandatory.  We end Day 6 by reaching Uniondale, the start town of the annual Karoo to Coast cycle race.  Remember we have been running towards the coast for 6 days already.  Our first 6 days we average 56 kays per day, or in running terminology a Two Oceans ultra each day.

  • At the end of the day we would have completed this much of our journey 33.81% 33.81%
