Day 17 sees us reach Swellendam, the third oldest town in South Africa.  The town is full of historic buildings and will be the biggest town that we have been through in an entire week so we will definitely do some exploring of the best restaurants that we can get a hearty meal at.  Whilst we will have our finish in Swellendam in mind the whole day it won’t be without challenge – we have to run on the N2 for a short stretch and on our recon drives we have already started looking at the size of the verge and whether the farms offer an alternative route.
